UK hotel of the month

March sees the opening of a brand new five-star hotel in the heart of Belfast - which gives you the perfect excuse to visit this vibrant, fascinating city. Situated right next-door to the glorious Grand Opera House, the super-swanky Fitzwilliam Hotel prides itself on its sumptuous accommodation, fabulous restaurant and all-round atmosphere of contemporary elegance.

The Fitzwilliam boasts 130 guestrooms - otherwise known as 'personal sanctuaries' - where you can create your own private hideaway. The focal point of each room is, of course, the wonderfully inviting king-size bed - dressed with crisp, white Egyptian linen, too many pillows to count and a snuggly duck-down duvet to help you sink into a sublimely peaceful slumber.

Other features include stylish American walnut walkways, a CD player with MP3/iPod connections, a 26-inch LCD TV, complimentary high-speed broadband, luxurious bathrobes and slippers and gorgeous toiletries.

But while it may be tempting to lock yourself in your room for a weekend-long bed-in, there are plenty of reasons to take down the 'Do not disturb' sign and venture outside - although we can't guarantee you'll get much further than the hotel's bar and restaurant! The bar promises to be the perfect spot for people-watching - while the restaurant will offer breathtaking food created by expert chefs, using fresh local produce.

Oh, and just in case you suddenly get a burst of energy, you'll be pleased to hear the hotel also has a state-of-the-art fitness suite. However, you may prefer to get some exercise by exploring Belfast's city centre on foot, including the many great shops and museums. Or the hotel concierge can arrange a trip to the theatre, sporting event or another of the city's fabulous eateries.
The opening rate is £125 for an executive room (saving £55 on the normal price) - or check out the website for more special offers. Find out more here.
