Cocktail of the month

Valentine's Day may have been and gone - but you can still get loved-up at home by mixing a couple of his 'n' hers cocktails. These fabulous recipes were created by the wonderfully named Wayne Whoriskey, manager of London's new Miami-inspired nightclub, Diva Beach.

The Lady GoDiva cocktail is suitably pink and sweet - while the more macho Love Fool is fruit and whisky-based with an added chilli kick. Of course, if you're mixing them yourself at home, there's no reason why you can't try both!

Lady GoDiva

Ingredients
2 measures of Baileys; 1 measure of Grand Marnier; 12.5ml Grenadine syrup; 2 tsp vanilla sugar; 4 strawberries; 6 raspberries; a splash of semi-skimmed milk

Method
1. Muddle together the strawberries and raspberries in a cocktail shaker, then add the sugar and syrup.
2. Add the Baileys, Grand Marnier and milk. Then add some cubed ice to the shaker and shake hard for around 30 seconds to break up the ice and avoid too thick a consistency.
3. Strain the drink out of the shaker, then through a tea strainer, to stop lumps of fruit getting into the drink and affecting the texture.
4. Now pour into a Martini glass and garnish with a strawberry over the edge of the glass. Enjoy!

Love Fool

Ingredients
37.5ml Scotch whisky; 12.5ml Grand Marnier; 25ml cranberry juice; 10ml lime juice; 10ml sugar syrup; slice of ginger, diced; 4 strawberries; 1 chilli tip (slice 1cm from the tip of the chilli and use the rest for garnish)

Method
1. Add the ginger, chilli and three strawberries to a cocktail shaker. Muddle together for 10 seconds, or until all juice has been squashed from the strawberries.
2. Add the remaining ingredients, other than the remaining strawberry and chilli garnish.
3. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
4. Strain into a clean glass filled with ice, and garnish with a strawberry and the rest of the chilli spiked on a cocktail stick.
