This month's fashion indulgence
As any woman knows, indulging yourself with a super-swanky shopping trip is one of the best ways to up the feel-good factor … second only to eating chocolate, in fact. But you don't have to head for the upmarket boutiques of London to find gorgeous designer clothes, one-off jewellery and to-die-for shoes. Here are three fabulous shops that send our hearts racing...
Ursula & Odette, 109 Rectory Grove, Leigh-on-Sea, Essex; www.ursulaodette.co.uk. This gorgeous store in a sleepy seaside town models itself on the hip boutiques of downtown Manhattan. Decked out with vintage furniture and scented candles, it's the kind of place where you'll want to spend hours browsing through racks of the latest fashions and accessories, as well as offbeat original jewellery and amazing antique finds. The shop constantly showcases new designers from across the globe alongside fashion finds from closer to home.
Cricket, 8 Mathew Street, Liverpool; www.cricketliverpool.co.uk.
Even if you're not from the North-West, chances are you've already heard of Liverpool shoppers' paradise Cricket, as it's gained a reputation for being the wonder-Wags' favourite boutique: Coleen McLoughlin and Alex Curran are both regulars. The shop-floor may be relatively tiny, but it still manages to display a positively mouthwatering selection of designer must-haves from the likes of Marc Jacobs, Roland Mouret and Chloé. Wear big, big shades so you can do a spot of surreptitious star-spotting while you're there!
Mee, 9a Bartlett Street Bath; www.meeboutique.com.
This fabulously girlie boutique is our absolute favourite place to hang out in Bath. French antique wardrobes are filled with fantastic frocks, flowing kaftans and designer jeans - while pampering beauty products, hair accessories and retro sunglasses are displayed on vintage dressing tables. Oh, and while you're deciding what to buy, you can recline on the simply sumptuous velvet chaise longue. Bliss!
