Supermodel and occasional rock star Agyness Deyn seems to have graced more magazine front covers and filled more tabloid column inches than Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell put together recently. The reason? At 25, Agy is no spring chicken in modelling terms but her fresh-faced, crop-haired look and fun, party-girl attitude have ensured those contracts keep rolling in.
Agy's signature style is a veritable mish-mash of current high-street trends - stripy socks, rock T-shirts, leggings, denim shorts, bangles, skinny jeans, over-sized jackets, trilbies and the occasional demure frock. 'Sometimes I think it would be nice to do random stuff and see if it catches on,' she laughs.
If you're feeling brave, you can copy her look completely. Or you can play it a little safer by simply taking inspiration for one or two key pieces. Head to Topshop (www.topshop.co.uk) or Urban Outfitters (www.urbanoutfitters.co.uk) for rock T-shirts; Sock Shop (www.sockshop.co.uk) or major department stores for stripy socks; and just about any fashion store on the high street for skinny jeans or denim shorts.
Manchester-born Agyness now lives mainly in New York, but she hasn't forgotten her Great British roots. She lists the Queen as her fashion icon, and regularly wears T-shirts and badges emblazoned with the Union Jack.
She also takes every opportunity to champion British fashion houses and designers. 'I love Burberry and it's special to work for a British label,' she gushes. She counts London-based designer Henry Holland among her closest friends, and has regularly modelled for his label, House of Holland.
And she may spend much of her working life wearing couture but Agy loves the high street - and the high street loves Agy. She's the face of Giles Deacon's Gold range for New Look (www.newlook.co.uk), and Zara (www.zara.com) have even based their shop-floor mannequins on Ms Deyn!
The model also likes to throw in the occasional vintage find: the key to Agy's look, after all, is to mix things up. 'My mum was always trying to get me into Laura Ashley floral dresses, and I'd be, like, "No, Mum,"' she laughs. 'But now I love those floral dresses - with a pair of Dr Martens.'
