Get the celebrity look

She's been wowing viewers in the current series of Strictly Come Dancing. But Lisa Snowdon had already spent many years in the public eye, thanks to a high-profile modelling and presenting career and an even higher profile relationship with George Clooney. So how can we replicate her trademark style and possibly increase our chances of attracting George?

'It's rare to see Lisa veer away from her signature look,' says celebrity make-up artist Jane Bradley. 'She clearly knows what she feels comfortable with, and sticks with it: a natural, polished-yet-understated look'.

'Lisa has lovely skin, which she evens out with a natural finish foundation,' Jane continues. For a similar effect, try Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Make-up (£22.50; www.boots.com): its demi-matt finish means it doesn't need powder to keep it in place all day.

Lisa's cheeks are always defined using a warm apricot shade, which complements her dark hair and skin tone. Her lips usually match, so she wears a warm lipstick to give colour without making a real statement. To create this effect, Jane suggests using MAC Lip Pencil in Stripdown (£9; www.maccosmetics.co.uk) all over the lip, then adding a good slick of lip balm. 'You can dab a little gloss over the top for a more glamorous feel,' she suggests.

To accentuate the eyes, Lisa applies a black eye liner pencil very close to the lash line on both the upper and lower lids. 'Adding a couple of coats of black mascara really makes the eyes stand out,' says Jane. 'Stop it from smudging by going over the top of with a fine brush dipped in a matching shade of shadow: this smooths out the line while giving it extra staying power.'

Finally, Lisa's eyebrows are always shaped beautifully. 'Add extra depth with a matching shade of brow pencil,' suggests Jane. Try No.7 Brow Eye Pencil (£10; www.boots.com), which is flat and angled to aid application.

And the finished look? 'It's simple, polished and definitely not overdone,' says Jane. 'Lisa always allows her natural beauty to shine through.'
