Skincare products of the month
One of the biggest beauty buzzes of recent years came about when Crystal Clear's Roll Away the Years Eye Serum (£38) was first launched at Selfridges. Celebrities, make-up artists and beauty editors alike were tripping over their Jimmy Choos in the rush to get hold of this 'magic pen' that cleverly banishes lines and wrinkles with just a few sweeps of its roller-ball tip.
Well, now the Crystal Clear range has been extended even further to include 14 new skincare products, all featuring scientifically based ingredients combined with crushed precious stones which target key problem areas such as lines and wrinkles, sunspots and dark under-eye circles. Don't all rush to the beauty hall at once!
Among the top-sellers is Intense Anti-Ageing Serum (£60) which firms, lifts and smoothes skin with the help of a polypeptide-based ingredient found in the venom of some viper snakes. Don't be alarmed: apparently, this poisonous-sounding product is fantastic for reducing expression lines and wrinkles by inhibiting muscle contractions.
Another favourite is Illuminate, a brilliant pick-me-up for dull, tired complexions. Its active ingredients? There's Lightening Complex with vitamin C, Lumiskin to decrease melanin content and - perhaps best of all - ruby, a magical mineral that stimulates microcirculation.
And if you're venturing out in the sun, you may want to invest in Protect & Repair, an anti-ageing sunscreen with a super-protective SPF 40. Its key ingredient, Tinosorb, encourages micro-fine particles to reflect and scatter the light, while photo-stable organic molecules absorb harmful UV rays and minimise the risk of radiation damage to the skin.
Crystal Clear Skincare is available from Selfridges and selected House of Fraser and Fenwick stores nationwide. To find out more, call 08705 934 934 or visit www.crystalclear.co.uk.
