The Cabriolet for all Seasons

The new 308 CC is the latest in a long line of popular Peugeot Coupé Cabriolet cars. Compared to 2003’s Peugeot 307 CC which it replaces, the 308 CC is longer, wider and has a larger front and rear track to improve the overall dynamic performance. The extra length and width also benefits occupants by increasing the internal passenger space.

PEUGEOT

With its balanced forms, both in Coupé and Cabriolet configurations, the 308 CC cuts an elegant figure: modern and dynamic, with a graphic style emphasised even further by light reflecting contours. Low-slung with an aerodynamically positioned front windscreen, a deeply profiled lower front panel, generously sculpted sides with chrome bead decorating the windows, prominent haunches, an original boot lid and spectacular LED rear lights featuring curtain of red light technology, the 308 CC is strong in personality.

The exclusive passenger compartment is undeniably stylish and comfortable. The sculpted front seats with their integral head restraints have an inbuilt ‘Airwave’ neck heating system which provides warm air around the occupant’s neck *.

Inside the 308 CC is trimmed with attractive fabrics in black / Grey cloth as standard. The 308 CC benefits from a full body coloured paint treatment that includes door mirrors, door and boot handls.

Fully automatic retractable roof

The fully automatic retractable roof can transform in 20 seconds and its operation can be viewed on the colour display, turning the car into a dynamic Coupé or an elegant Cabriolet according to its occupant’s choice.

The cabriolet configuration can even be enjoyed in cold weather! Protective architecture, intelligent air conditioning, heated seats, the windstop and the revolutionary ‘Airwave’ system.

The two-part retractable roof separates from the rear quarter panel pillars when folded, creating extra space in the boot. This revolution also extends to the time taken to open or close the roof, now reduced to 20 seconds - even when driving at speeds of up to 7.5mph, and to its quality in terms of fit, water-resistance and robust operation.

5 star EuroNCAP rating for adult protection

The structure is derived from the 308 CC hatchback ensuring an excellent level of safety to protect the occupants from front and side impact and any rollover situations.

EuroNcap awarded five stars to the 308 CC in the ‘adult occupancy test’ with an excellent total of 36 points (out of a possible maximum 37). In short, the 308 CC has been given the best possible structural adaptations for an open top car, maintaining optimum strength even in the Cabriolet configuration.

The 308 CC is also equipped with front air bags, chest/pelvis side air bags (marking a world first), a head airbag for the front passengers, housed directly in the seat and deployed laterally from the head restrain.

The 308 CC is designed to create a real sensation of tranquillity in the passenger compartment.

A Useable Boot

The 308 CC has a very usable boot with a number of dedicated storage spaces (including one under the boot floor carpet to store the optional windstop). A lot of attention has also been paid to the boot area to optimise the space and gain valuable additional millimetres.

Peugeot Connect Audio and Navigation Systems

To ensure every journey is as enjoyable as possible four different standard or optional Peugeot Connect audio and navigation systems are available. Options include: an MP3 compatible Radio / CD player; an inbuilt Bluetooth® hands-free kit; satellite navigation with European cartography, traffic information. The top-of-the-range system use a 30 GB hard disc for cartography and music storage, with 10 GB devoted to the Juke Box function, an integral GSM mobile telephone with an integral SIM card holder and Bluetooth® functions.

New engines provide 308 CC with a dynamic experience

Initially at launch two dynamic and fuel efficient engines will be available, both equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox … or if preferred an automatic gearbox option.  The choice extends quickly in 2009 with a wider selection of engines that includes:

Petrol Engines available at launch are based on the direct petrol injection turbocharged engine

- 1.6-litre THP 150bhp engine - torque of 240Nm at 1400rpm - with six-speed manual gearbox
- 1.6-litre THP 140bhp engine - torque of 240Nm at 1400rpm - with four-speed automatic gearbox and ‘Porsche Tiptronic System’ control
- 1.6-litre VTi 120bhp engine - torque of 160Nm at 4250rpm – with five-speed manual gearbox.

HDi Diesel Engines


- 2.0-litre HDi FAP 140bhp - torque of 240Nm (260Nm with overboost) at 2000rpm - with six-speed manual gearbox

- 2.0-litre HDi FAP 136bhp - torque of 240Nm (260Nm with overboost) at 2000rpm - with six-speed automatic gearbox and ‘Porsche Tiptronic System’

- 1.6-litre HDi 110 FAP 112bhp engine - torque of 270Nm (285Nm with overboost) at 1750rpm - with a six speed manual gearbox.

Suspension system

The dynamic road holding of the 308 CC is designed to combine driving pleasure with active safety and a high level of comfort. It benefits from Peugeot’s experience in terms of Coupe Cabriolets and also their expertise in designing vehicles with high torsional rigidity, a key element for good road holding.

The 308 CC is equipped, according to the engine and version, with wheel and tyre combinations specially adapted to this particular body shape.
